Margaret Evans

A graduate of Glasgow School of Art in 1974, Margaret combined teaching and painting throughtout her career, travelling extensively throughout America and Europe. Since 2020 she has dedicated herself to paintng full-time, a change she'd been working towards that was accelerated by the pandemic. Her experiences abroad are reflected in her Scottish landscapes, as she says "Painting is not about copying but exaggerating its line, composition and colours. My teaching took me all over the world, which has broadened my perspective on landscapes, but also makes me appreciate my own country and what scope Scotland has to offer in subject matter for artists." Renowned for her pastel painting, Margaret is a member of the Portrait Society of America, featuring regularly in the International Artist magazine.
