Born in London, I moved to rural Scotland in 1999, later becoming a mature student at Gray's School of Art achieving both a BA and MFA. My studies and love of all things wild develop my practice to its present form. It is my intent to create a narrative that reflects the yearning for an escape from the cage of tacitly agreed upon notions of a woman's role as mother and homemaker. My belief that acknowledging our place as part of nature is crucial to our spiritual and emotional wellbeing and development is expressed by employing symbols of femininity and domesticity juxtaposed with messengers from the natural world.
