Caroline Bailey RSW
Caroline Bailey RSW is one of Scotland’s most distinctive contemporary landscape painters, celebrated for her bold use of colour and expressive brushwork. A graduate of Edinburgh College of Art, Bailey draws inspiration from the dramatic coastlines, harbours and rural scenery of the Scottish Highlands and Islands.
Working primarily in mixed media on board or paper, her paintings capture the energy of Scotland’s ever-changing light and weather — from vibrant fishing boats set against dark seas to luminous seascapes and quiet crofts. Collectors are drawn to her confident compositions, textured surfaces and the way she distills a scene down to its most powerful shapes and colours.
Bailey has exhibited widely throughout Scotland and the UK, with work held in private and public collections. As a Royal Scottish Society of Painters in Watercolour (RSW) member, she continues to push the boundaries of water-based media in contemporary art.
