MASTERWORKS: A selection of exceptional fine art prints from Peacock: a workshop for art
"Working with Peacock has allowed the technical aspirations and experimentation of the processes involved to catch up with the ambition and scale of the work. I explain to the team what I want to try and achieve visually in the series, and pull out drawings and source material around the images and they come back with a whole range of options and pathways that turn my clunky and simplistic approach to solving the woodcuts into much more direct and inventive solutions. The studio takes care of the zen-like processes involved and I can then think beyond them. This is such a freeing experience. We also have such a laugh in the process! Although some of the music the team listens to has the effect of being incarcerated in a 1970's time machine- quite a nice place to be in fact, the whole shared experience is intoxicating, and I feel my work is pushed way beyond the limits of my personal vision.”Tom Hammick on the making of Lunar Voyage at Peacock: a workshop for art - 2017.
Ralph Steadman on collaborating with Peacock -
"I am sure that I can find it in my beating Heart to say the most wonderful things about printing at 21 Castle Street Aberdeen in ALL
weathers! For me it was one of the seminal experiences of my life - working with Peacock and all the good folks who helped me to draw out of any deep-etched zinc-or copper plate - whatever it was I was attempting to
coax out of the as yet faceless, heartless surface what it was I was travelling so far to find!!!
Peacock are to my mind- and way of thinking - the very best place in this World to express our visual thoughts - as Visual
Arts - Prints of the finest quality - Prints to be proud of - and worthy of all the hard work it takes to produce them……
THANK YOU ALL- for those special times - you made me feel like PICASSO!! - or was it DUCHAMP!??? Never mind!
It was SPECIAL!"
