A vibrant visual dialogue between earth and sky, pairing the elemental depths of Scotland's untamed coastlines with the expressive, fleeting energy of avian life.

Gallery Heinzel is delighted to present a striking new two-woman exhibition that celebrates the natural world through two distinct but deeply complementary lenses. This showcase brings together the expansive, elemental land and seascapes of Victoria Wylie with Fiona Sturrock's highly anticipated collection of vivid bird portraits.
Victoria Wylie returns with her signature bold and atmospheric mixed-media paintings. Drawing from her time exploring the Scottish wilderness—from the Angus coast and the foothills of the Cairngorms to the rugged shores of the West Coast—Wylie translates the quietness of weather-watching and the rhythmic energy of the sea into immersive, highly textured panels.
Complementing these sweeping vistas, Fiona Sturrock shifts our gaze to the intimate and dynamic with her expressive avian studies. Heavily influenced by the legacy of the Scottish Colourists, Sturrock masterfully manipulates light, shade, and rich colour to capture not just the physical form, but the fleeting movement and unique character of her winged subjects. Together, Wylie and Sturrock offer a compelling celebration of nature’s vastness alongside its most vibrant, characterful details.
